The Facilities

Ball Event Center is a locally-owned and intentionally quite affordable multipurpose venue specializing in weddings, special events, and corporate events and business meetings. Named after Kansas City’s Ball grocery family, the Ball Event Center facility was built in 2004 as part of a capital campaign for a new corporate office for KVC Health Systems, Inc.  – a not-for-profit organization; KVC’s mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of children and families by providing medical and behavioral healthcare, social services and education.

With a beautiful ballroom that seats up to 350 guests (banquet seating), and both a boardroom (seating up to 18), and a classroom (allowing for 40 guests), you’re certain to find the perfect space to suit your event needs – along with a professional event staff that specializes in delivering guest peace of mind. And when it comes to the little extras you need to make your event just right, you’ll find that at Ball Event Center, we’ve thought of everything.

Granite, hardwood and modern glass architecture adorn the facility – complemented by unique curated artwork and grand open spaces. The effect is a venue that is visually elegant yet warmly approachable.

Spaces

With 4,600 square feet of ample space, our Ballroom can be utilized as one large room for grand-scale event such as wedding receptions, fundraisers and other social events, or configured into three separate, sound insulated rooms for smaller events and meetings. The space as a whole can accommodate up to 400 guests theater style, 350 in a banquet setting or 144 for classroom learning guests. We welcome you to transform the space to suit your event!

With a convenient and fully-equipped technology panel at your fingertips, our Executive Boardroom was designed exclusively for executive presentations. Whether you need to project a presentation, share a film clip or need video conferencing access, this room is ideal for business and board meetings.

The Mabee Learning Center is a full-feature audio/visual studio and classroom accommodating up to 40 guests in a stepped gallery setting. In addition to the audio and projection systems, the presenter is in full control of all technology aspects directly from the podium. The Learning Center is ideal for any interactive, distance or classroom style events.

Purpose

KVC offers a wide variety of medical, behavioral and social services to thousands of children and families across Kansas each year – from their psychiatric hospital and residential facilities for children, to outpatient services with on-staff psychologists, psychiatrists and pediatricians; from recruitment and support for hundreds of foster homes, to finding loving adoptive families for awaiting children.

Services

The most important service KVC offers is the creation of hope and a path to reach it. Every individual, business and community partner that hosts an event at the Ball Event Center is helping pave that path, a path KVC could not build without this support.
