Below are a few settings you can adjust if you are experiencing accessibility or display issues:

  • Navigate Screens Using Keyboard
    • Windows: Press “Alt-Tab” to toggle between the current and previous window. While holding “Alt” down, repeatedly press “Tab” to select another tab; upon releasing the keys, Windows will display the selected window.
    • Mac: Press “Control-Right Arrow” or “Control-Left Arrow” to navigate right or left among the open screens.
  • Enlarge Text Size
    • Windows: Select “Start” (Windows key), select “Settings,” then “Ease of Access,” then “Display.” After that, adjust the slider found under, “Make Text Bigger,” to adjust the font size displayed on the screen. Select “Apply” to save your changes.
    • Mac: Select the Apple Menu (Apple icon), select “System Settings,” click “Displays,” then select the pop-up menu next to “Resolution,” select “Scaled,” then choose a Larger Text Option to the left of “Default.”
  • Magnify Your Screen
    • Windows: Select “Start” (Windows key) and “+” at the same time to open the Magnifier. While holding “Start” (Windows key) down, repeatedly press “+” to Zoom in further. Select “Start” (Windows key) and “-” at the same time to zoom out with the Magnifier.
    • Mac: Select the Apple Menu (Apple icon), select “System Settings,” click “Accessibility,” select “Zoom,” then select “Use Keyboard Shortcuts to Zoom.” After that, to Zoom in, press down “Option,” “Command,” and “+” together. To Zoom out, press down “Option,” “Command,” and “-” together.
  • Change Background & Text Colors / Turn on Contrast Themes
    • Windows: Select “Start” (Windows key), click “Settings,” then “Accessibility,” then click “Contrast Themes.” Select the theme you’d like to use from the Contrast Themes drop-down menu, then click “Apply” to save your preferences. To turn it off again, click “None” from the Contrast Themes drop-down menu, then click “Apply” to save your preferences.
      For a shortcut to turn on/off High Contrast mode, simply press the left “Alt,” left “Shift,” and “Print Screen” keys all at the same time.
    • Mac: Select the Apple Menu (Apple icon), click “System Settings,” select “Accessibility,” then select “Display.” From here you can select which preferences you’d like to adjust.
      For a shortcut to quickly access certain color and visual display settings, simply press “Option,” “Command,” and “F5.”
  • Enlarge Mouse Pointer
    • Windows: Select “Start” (Windows key), click “Control Panel,” select “Ease of Access,” select “Ease of Access Center,” and click “Make the Mouse Easier to Use.” After that you can choose which mouse settings you’d like to change (color and size, turn on mouse keys, etc.)
    • Mac: Select the Apple Menu (Apple icon), click “System Settings,” select “Accessibility,” click “Display,” then go to “Pointer.” From there you can choose which mouse settings you’d like to change (size, outline color, fill color, etc)
