1. Liberty Memorial

The perfect modern backdrop that shows off gorgeous views of downtown Kansas City; also, large enough to fit your entire wedding party! You will love being up high and getting some amazing photos with downtown KC as the backdrop.

2. Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Nelson Atkins Museum, Wisdom-Watson Weddings

A Kansas City classic – get your wedding photos closer to the building for a more modern, architectural feel, or head to the large lawn area in front of the museum if you prefer a park-like setting — you can’t go wrong either way.

3. West Bottoms

This area won’t have greenery, but if you love a more industrial feel with concrete, buildings, and bridges, this spot will help you get perfect photos of your big day.

4. Country Club Plaza

Another iconic place in KC is anywhere on the Country Club Plaza. Just using The Plaza as a backdrop in pictures showcases Kansas City, from the shops to the restaurants, and even the fountains. The Plaza would work especially well for a winter wedding once the lights are turned on.

5. Kauffman Center

A newer addition to Kansas City, the Kauffman Center provides a modern backdrop while still showcasing the beauty of downtown KC — you will fall in love all over again after seeing your wedding pictures taken here.

6. Union Station

Union Station has the option for indoor or outdoor photos. Outside you can often get the train tracks, building or even streetcar in the background. Or inside you could use the Main Grand Hall as a backdrop, which has lots of rich KC history and beautiful architectural detail.

7. Loose Park

If you are looking for a more natural setting, Loose Park would be a great option! There are lots of flowers and trees, and many natural backdrops to choose from.

8. Westin Crown Center Rooftop Deck

The views from this rooftop deck might be one of if not the best, views of Kansas City for those mantle worthy pictures of your big day!

9. The Colonnade

The Colonnade was once a hidden gem for photography in KC, but now that more people know about it, it has become more popular. This spot might have the most romantic backdrops on the list and make you feel more like you are in Rome than in Kansas City!

10. Shawnee Mission Park

Shawnee Mission Park is another spot on the list with more greenery, trees, flowers and water features – all would make great backdrops for your special day.
