The Biggest Trend for Fall 2023 is Maximalist Weddings!
Fall has replaced spring and summer as the hottest season for weddings, and October 2023 will be the most popular month for tying the knot this year. After the delays and uncertainties caused by the pandemic, couples are still making up for lost time. Luxury, over-the-top details, bold colors, high energy, and all-day parties are making weddings bigger and better than ever.
Trends that are IN for Fall 2023
Sophisticated Color – and more of it! – is in for this fall. Centerpieces, bouquets, décor, and dresses will be a riot of jewel tones. Even the aisles have become a spot for couples to introduce some personality and pizzazz from the moment guests walk in the door.
Midday Ceremonies – More couples are opting for midday ceremonies, followed by a break for the wedding party and guests to regroup before making their way to cocktails, the reception, and the party.
Over the Top Cakes and Cake Toppers – Large wedding cakes are back, and the bigger, the better. Multiple tiers, flowers, colors, and big, personalized toppers will be everywhere this fall.
Welcome Parties and After Parties – The wedding day is becoming the wedding weekend as more couples turn their nuptials into a two – or three! – day event. Couples are starting their wedding weekends with a welcome party for the out-of-towners the day before, the wedding and reception the next, and then, following that, a smaller afterparty with brunch the next morning.
What is OUT for Fall 2023
Delete the Wedding Hashtag – The days of the wedding hashtag are winding down. Couples are now opting to post their big day on Instagram stories, even though they disappear in just 24 hours. (Make sure to save all your stories to an Instagram highlight, making it a sort of digital scrapbook of your big day!)
Matching No More – Bridesmaids’ dresses are moving away from the last few seasons’ vogue for almost-matching gowns – same color and fabric but each dress a different variation of one style. Now, not only are bridesmaids wearing completely different dresses, but often each in a different color, too.
Party at the Alter – At today’s weddings, everyone is part of the audience as attendants take a seat for the vows. The couple is truly the center of attention, and their moment is more intimate at the same time.
Fireworks Fizzle – However over-the-top today’s weddings are becoming, fireworks have faded as more couples look to make their event more environmentally friendly.
